WOBBLERS CLASSROOm
15 months-2 years old
At Wee Care JP, we help young toddlers flourish by respecting their dual needs for lots of stimulation and lots of consistent love. Children this age benefit from more structure and routine compared to other age groups so they can pursue their chief job: explore, explore, explore! Planned activities, neighborhood field trips and lots of free play and outside time in a nurturing environment allows Wobblers to:

SCOOTERS CLASSROOM
2-3 years old
Older toddlers and young preschoolers, with their new language skills in tow, take off at this age. They are ready to be introduced to more academic activities, like letter and number awareness, looking at books independently, shapes, colors, etc. They learn how to negotiate cooperative play as their games grow more complex. They need assistance to master self-sufficient behaviors, like potty training, or fetching their coats and lunches. While enjoying lots of outside time and free play, and more challenging field trips, Scooters:

ZOOMERS CLASSROOM
3-5 years old
For this age group, the circle of exploration grows and grows as children gather the skills they need to be well-prepared for kindergarten. The kids are ready for more extensive field trips, more advanced pre-reading and number skills, more independence. They have more evolved reasoning, language and ideas. The teachers offer more complex story lines and creative opportunities, more multi-faceted curricula emphasizing respect for others, and more control over choices of activities and responsibility for behavior. The children also develop more in-depth friendships. Many children here stay friends for years to come as they see each other around the neighborhood. We help our Zoomers:

Our staff
The teachers at Wee Care JP are professional educators that take the time to get to know each and every child here at Wee Care JP. The teachers are chosen for their love of children first, as well as their experience, education and enthusiasm. The teachers teach as a team within each classroom and across classrooms, supported by the Director. Many of the teachers in the school have ten or more years of experience working here together and educating toddler and preschool children in the neighborhood.
All of our teachers are EEC qualified early childhood professionals. Some hold degrees in Early Childhood Education; others are working toward advanced degrees with support from Wee Care JP. They have a variety of experiences working with children. Some are parents themselves and some are grandparents. They all have First Aid and CPR Certifications that are renewed every year. Training, supervision, and support are constant at our school. Teaching staff are required to attend 20 hours of training each year. Teacher team meetings and staff meetings are held weekly and monthly, respectively. Professional evaluations are given yearly. Specific qualifications for our teachers are available to you by asking the Director.

Hi, I’m Ms. Toni
  Teaching is my passion! After nearly thirty years as a  childhood  educator, I have learned that in order to ensure a child’s success in the classroom, we must protect their rights to an equal and ethic education!
    I began my career in Davenport Iowa Head Start program where I received my teaching certification in  1998.   upon moving to Oklahoma I received my Master Teacher certification from OSU-OKC.
   I love working with children because they have unbiased hearts and minds!
My favorite color is purple
My favorite drink is lemonade.

Lucy H.
Hi! I'm Lucy Humphrey, and I'm a preschool teacher certified through Urban College. I believe that students learn best when they feel safe and when they're having fun, and I love doing project-based learning. I started working here in December 2020, but my journey really started at Wee Care when I went here as a kid! A fun fact about me is that I am a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo. 
Shirley Deberry
I am 64 yrs old and I have been teaching children in childcare setting for 26 years now. I am also the mother of 8 children and I have 22 grandchildren and 4 great grand children. I am trained and qualified as a Lead Infant/Toddler and Preschool teacher. I received my teacher certificate and internship from Wheelock College, my Associates from Bunker Hill Community College and my Bachelor from Eastern Nazerene College. In the midst of all that I am Director II qualified. Presently I work with older toddlers and younger preschoolers, and I have been the school co-ordinator for 20years..
The reason why I am an early educators is because a grave mistake I made as a stay at home mom. I didn’t take early education as an important factor in my children future success. All 8 of my children had an IEP in elementary school, which could have been prevented if I was educated in the importance of early childgrowth and development. So, my goal as a early child care educator is to provide children with as much knowledge and opportunities to learn and develop into positively, successful and knowledgeable individuals. What I get the most pleasure from is when I spend time with my younger grandchildren and I am able to teach them through play, it become a reality and hearing the laughter and joy everytime they say, “Grandma sing it again.”

Morgen has been an assistant teacher at Wee Care JP since April 2023 and is pursuing a Bachelors degree in Psychology at UMass Boston. He believes that each child has their own strengths, and everyone deserves love and support. As a teenager, they had pink, purple, green, blue, and even rainbow hair
Barbara
I graduated from Boston College in May 1995 with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education and started working here in June 1995 and have been here ever since.  While I have worked with both preschoolers and toddlers, I would say my preference lies with the toddlers, as I am synonymous with the Wobblers.  I believe children learn through play or learn by doing.  I chose this field which can be both very challenging, yet very rewarding because I get to see firsthand children grow from babies, when they first start, to little people over time.  Every day is an adventure and I always have a story to tell!  Knowing I can be a part of that growth and development is very meaningful for me!  When I'm not working with the Wobblers, in my free time I love shopping catching all the sales, interacting and talking with people, and taking walks, as I love being outside!
Trevelyn Gordon
Hello, my name is Trevelyn Gordon. I have been a teachers’ assistant for the past three years working at Wee Care JP. Before working at We Care JP, I was a hairstylist for 27 years. After 27 years of being a hairstylist, I decided that it was time to change my career. My dear friend who owns and operates Wee care JP suggested that I come to assist her in her place of business. Once I got there, I knew that my passion was making a difference in the life of a child. In addition, Interacting with the children, and their parents is priceless. At the end of the day, it is such a beautiful sight when their parents arrive to pick them up, with smiles on their faces. I love doing my job as I continue to learn, and grow with online classes in making sure that I am making a big impact in the life of a child.

My name is Esperanta Iralien I've been a teacher for 4 years. I Just finished my CDA and I also have an associates degree in liberal arts. The best reason I wanted to be a teacher is that I want to have a positive inspiring, impact on children's lives. I achieve this by being kind caring, empathic passionate and funny. I have been working with children for 11 years: in overnight camps, after school tutoring, sports coach and daycare. I think of myself as the “first responders” of children's education. It is very important for me to provide them with a safe and fun environment to learn and grow. I am currently going to school and taking classes to further my education in early childhood.
